Cristina Savarese joined the design team of Zimbler Architecture in 2022.  A graduate of Temple University, Crissy offers a diverse and innovative approach to design- from small additions and new home design to retail development and multi-family residential projects.

As a child Cristina’s family traveled to Italy quite often to visit family and while there, she fell in love with architecture and the notion of creating spaces that cause one to feel and react.  Pompeii always stood out the most; to explore a city- frozen in time- she was fascinated by this ancient city, and it drove Cristina to pursue a career in architecture.  While studying at Temple Crissy was the project manager during a Design-Build studio semester giving her the skills in woodworking and even welding to create a stage for the Philadelphia Fringe Festival.  She also spent time studying abroad at Temple Rome and these amazing opportunities continued to add to her love of architecture.

Crissy has held architectural design positions as well as planning and development through her over 20-year career with architectural firms in Philadelphia, Matawan, and the Freehold area.  Crissy is originally from Old Bridge New Jersey, and she now lives in Matawan with her husband,  kitties and two children.  When Crissy isn’t at her desk working on one of our many projects, she can be found cycling the roads on her bike or relaxing in the backyard with friends and family.

Education: Bachelor of Architecture, Temple University (’01), Digital Design, Art Institute of Pittsburgh (’07), studied abroad Temple Rome (’99)

Nivien’s love of architecture began when she was a little girl playing with LEGOs. Her passion for designing buildings and creating spaces that function based on an individual’s needs drove her to pursue a career in architecture. In 2010, Nivien received her Bachelor of Science in Architecture degree from the New Jersey Institution of Technology. She then spent the first couple of years after graduation overseas where she gained experience in interior design while working for a firm that specialized in design/build projects.

Upon returning to the US, Nivien expanded her skills by working for several different firms in New Jersey. The projects she worked on encompassed renovations, additions, and new residential construction, restoration of historic homes, as well as various commercial projects that included cafes, restaurants and retail fit outs.

Nivien particularly enjoys working on challenging projects because she likes to test her strong problem solving skills and tries to explore new avenues to increase her efficiency and quality of her work product. She also loves hand crafts which provides inspiration for her design work and helps her hone her creative skills.

Nivien joined Zimbler Architecture in 2019.
